Garden Fertilizer Information

When selecting a garden fertilizer it is important to understand the specific nutrient requirements of each crop. IS&F has a variety of fertilizers that are tailored to provide the required nutrient ratios for vegetable gardens. Below is a fertilizer guide for common vegetable crops.

Balanced Blends

Garden + (18-18-18-2S) : A nutrient balanced garden blend specially formulated plants that require high NPK. Only need to apply 3 times per season.

Vitality (Water Soluble 20-20-20) : A water soluble option that is a completely balanced NPK blend. Can be used to substitute Garden + granular fertilizer. The advantage of water soluble fertilizer is that it is immediately available for plant uptake and applications can be tailored. Requires regular plant feedings.

High Phosphorous and Potassium Blends

Garden PK (11-22-22-2S): A low nitrogen blend with balanced parts of phosphorous and potassium. Ideal for most root crops and nitrogen fixing crops like peas and beans.

Bloom (Water Soluble 10-30-20) : A water soluble option that is a low nitrogen, high P and K blend. Can be used to substitute Garden PK granular fertilizer. The advantage of water soluble fertilizer is that it is immediately available for plant uptake and applications can be tailored. Requires regular plant feedings.

Plant Starter

Emerge (Water Soluble 10-52-10) : Emerge is a water soluble plant starter perfect for starting and transplanting seeds. The high phosphorous promotes strong, rapid root growth that directly impacts the health of the plant throughout the season. Can be used to start all vegetable crops.
